  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • garlic/parsley (chopped earlier)
  • 1/2 teashpoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

Cook for 4 minutes. Pour over noodles in casserole dish.

Also, add to the casserole dish…

  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken
  • 8 thin slices of chicken breasts

In another saucepan over medium heat…

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter

Once butter is melted, blend with…

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

While stirring constantly, add…

  • 1 cup chicken broth (hot, very important)

Once thickened, remove from heat then add…

  • 1/2 cup light cream (warmed, again very important)
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine

Pour the cream sauce over the chicken in the casserole dish.

Sprinkle with…

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Place in oven and back for 15-18 minutes.

Optionally, can cook under a broiler. Place aluminium foil over top, broil for 10 minutes, remove foil, keeping close watch, continue broiling until a light brown crust appears.
